“Understated Elegance” is the best way to describe this beautiful home situated on farmland outside of Hillsborough, North Carolina. The owners wanted a home that their adult children and grandchildren could come to visit them, along with a myriad of guests from all over the country. This was a home for 2 people to enjoy on a daily basis, but also be used as a place to entertain for an evening or a week.
No detail was too small not to be considered. Every detail was thoroughly thought through, often with multiple options being given for consideration. A lot of time and thought was given to be certain the spaces had the correct flow and the rooms had the proper proportions – from the overall room sizes down to the size of the trim in each room. This is a true custom home, with one of a kind inlay flooring, herringbone banded wood flooring in the Living and Dining Rooms, custom made doors that are thicker and taller than standard, trim that had knives made especially for this home, and the list goes on.
While a lot of time was spent to create “Wintergreen Farms” just how the owners’ wanted it, the end goal was to create a home where family and friends could gather and enjoy themselves. It’s not a showplace of architecture, but a home for a family who appreciates the finer things in life.
